Growing our talent from within: Raymond Smith promoted to Creative Director
We’re proud to announce the promotion of Raymond Smith to the role of Creative Director. Ray will continue to workalongside SVP, ECD Scott Pinkney to advance not only the agency’s creative output, but also the management and leadership of the entire creative team.
With over 20 years of experience in the advertising industry, Raymond is a skilled strategist and creative professional who began his career at agencies such as Vickers & Benson, FCB Direct and Bensimon Byrne, before joining the
Globe & Mail.
Since joining Hawkeye in 2016, Ray has demonstrated his exceptional creativity and strategic ability, business acumen, and commitment to delivering outstanding work. His accounts have included FCA, DQ, Citi, Elanco, MEDJCT, Wondery, and Bieresdorf. Beyond his day-to-day client work, Ray took a crucial role in the creation and launch of ‘This is The Job,’ an important D&I initiative to guide racially marginalized high school students into the Advertising & Marketing industry. Additionally, he has authored an insightful 10-part LinkedIn series called ‘Welcome To Your First Job in Advertising,’ aimed at helping young talent navigate their initial months in the field.
